Cosmetic surgery is a branch of plastic surgery aimed at improving the physical appearance. It is also referred to as cosmetic surgery.

The interventions can concern the face, especially the nose (rhinoplasty), the eyelids (blepharoplasty), the chin (genioplasty) and the ears (otoplasty). They can also be aimed at removing wrinkles (rhytidectomy or lifting) or adipose tissue (lipolifting).

Breast surgery allows for enlargement (breast augmentation), reduction (reduction mammoplasty) or breast firming (mastopexy). It may also play a role in men in the case of gynecomastia.

Aesthetic surgery also deals with abdominoplasty for the reconstruction of the muscles of the abdomen and liposuction, for the removal of excess adipose tissue.
